Ever wondered what it would be like to have more of what you’ve worked hard for?

Most people would consider to think about this question in a material way – hard work pays in the way of better toys, homes and entertainment but what about more time for family and friends?
There seems to be an imbalance between what you get paid and the time in which you get to spend it.
We race off to the shops on the weekend and late nights spending in moments what it has taken all week to save and in the cold light of tomorrow we’ll look at what we have wasted our money on and do the same over and over again.
We fail to learn until that blinding revelation looms at 65 years of age and we realize we have nothing of real value except a pile of stuff.
We have very few memories of places or experiences as we have been so out of whack with what our original dreams were for our hard earned cash.
We work so hard and reward ourselves with 3-4 weeks off per year. If we’re fortunate and can afford a break. I ask why do we do this when all we need is basically food and shelter.
I work now to buy the rest of my life back. To work just long enough to make the leap from being a slave and prostitute to my employer for $20 per hour to buying freedom to roam were I please and take in the sweet nectar of world experiences that are a bargain price of an exchange for food and shelter and a couple of dollars loose change.

What is the true cost of living?
Most of us envy those who have managed to break the rules and follow their own path to wander the planet and enjoy their lives.
The real cost is sacrifice, giving up what you consider to be the most material elements of your “western” life and taking the leap of having a stable environment and going with the ebb and flow of the tide, wind and weather. Walking with your own decisions and not those of a bank manager or employer.
The cost is nothing financial, but a conscious decision in conjunction with the commitment to live the new life you choose for yourself. Your new “job” is to constantly monitor your thoughts, to balance the old and new, to steer your way onto your new path and embrace the decision that you have made.
There are no discounts to this cost, the only discount would be to discount your thoughts and doubt yourself on your new path. To discount now would be to fall back to the slavery that you are desperately trying to be free of.
Oh to be free….
