I had to share this, as this was a huge effort and I’m so gald to be a part of such a mammoth effort by all involved.

Dulux paints a brighter future for Vanuatu.

Cyclone Pam wreaked havoc and devastation in its wake as it passed through the pacific island nation of Vanuatu in March.

Wayne Davis an employee at  Dulux Trade Centre browns Plains was personally affected having only just bought a block of land in the Northern Island of Espiritu Santo.
“My property got off lightly with only a few trees down and flooding but my Island neighbours and friends in Port Vila didn’t fair so well” Wayne says.

Jumping into action Wayne immediately used social media to find out what was happening and started donating household items, canned food, ropes and even a couple of Dulux Dogs that belonged to his now grown children.

“I really wanted to do more, but I unfortunately can’t get to the island until September with all my annual leave planned.” Wayne says.

Wayne and his teammates at Dulux Browns Plains discussed with Michael Grein Dulux Groups State Manager for Queensland, a plan to donate the stores mistints to the unfortunate displaced locals of Vanuatu. Michael Grein upped the offer and donated Dulux T-shirts, Brush packs, Rollers, Buckets and Plastic Drop Sheets.

With the coordinated efforts of Dulux Group and Sam Carty from Complete Self Storage Capalaba, the sheer determination and dedication of the team at Dulux Browns Plains now paints a brighter future for an island nation that needs all the support it can get to raise it up from the flattened rubble of recent weeks.

It’s now that the media has moved on to other world events that the people of Vanuatu will really struggle, it’s now that Vanuatu needs you the most.
The ongoing rebuilding of Vanuatu will take months and any further donations can be coordinated by contacting Wayne Davis at the Dulux Browns Plains Trade Centre

“I personally would like to thank all efforts the Dulux Trade Centres and the team members who have come forward to show support to both me and my extended Ni-Vanuatu Family. So proud of what we at Dulux can do for our neighbours in our pacific community” – Wayne Davis
