Dawn on Sunday, I hear the birds chirping and the plan is to go paddle boarding….I’m in Brisbane, but like my wife and many of my friends our hearts and thoughts are with the people and many friends we have in Vanuatu. We are worried sick this morning….
Yesterday afternoon saw us packing everything we could to take to a drop off center in Brisbane. I even managed to find a couple of Dulux Old English Sheepdogs that my children played with years ago, they are now off to the Islands to Cheer the children of Vanuatu.
The Island is in desperate need of Rope, Tarpaulins, medical equipment (even if it’s expired!) and canned food.
Our cupboards are now empty, but we know it can be easily replaced, as for the people of Vanuatu, these items cannot.
As you head off for a Sunday drive today and spend $20 for lunch, take an extra $20 and go buy something that will be of use… Find a donation place and drop it off.

There are tears in Elena’s eyes as we think of all the Ni Vanuatu people who lived in the shanty towns under sheets of corrugated iron. The sheer force of Cyclone Pam has left them with broken homes and shattered lives.
We’ve heard nothing yet from our neighbors Bruno and Jocylene, who have been slowly building on their land and living in a small wooden cabin, built with their bare hands
This Category 5 Cyclone as been dubbed the worst cyclone in Pacific History, we know our land will never look the same as it was in December, the damage is everywhere….
Guys, Looks like it may not be so bad for Santo. See the post on Aore island resort facebook page.

Thanks Olga, It’s been a few days now, but we have finally made contact with all our friends in both Luganvile and in Port Vila. Thankfully we on Espiritu Santo and other northern Islands were spared the full force of Cyclone Pam. The people of Vanuatu need our global support now and for months to come.
