After 15 1/2 years last night our beloved Minnie passed away, she was cherished and loved not only by immediate family but so many of our travelling friends that have come and stayed with us over the years.
Minnie was a pound Puppy that we chose from the RSPCA in New Zealand at Christmas 1999, she was all ready a year old and she was named because of her size and the fact that is was the new millennium.
She played a huge role in as a companion to our children and had many other pet friends to play with.
Minnie will be cremated and remain with us. A scattering of her ashes will be held at a date yet to be decided.
As some of you know, the song Wish you were here (written by Pink Floyd) is my favorite song, so as a tribute to my much missed Minnie Girl I have rewritten the lyrics and hope that you’ll take the time to listen to this tune and sing these words…..
Gone, gone so far away, you where taken today & left such pain.
Can you see that I grieve from head to toe?
I try to stay strong
But I think you all know.
We got you to trade your cage for hosts
We loved you for weeks
That turned to years
Then you grew old
We’d gladly exchange, another week in your life, than a day of pain.
How I wish. How I wish you were here
Were two lost souls wandering around our home, facing our fear,
Walking over the same old ground
We took you from the pound
Now the end is here
Wish you were here
Minnie, we love you
Great memories and just how life was in 2003 when we first met
Hey Leo our old friend 🙂 – Thank you for your comments, yes she will be sadly missed by so many people.
