fish-spaHave you ever seen them?

The little tanks outside the massage places in Asia. Being no stranger to Thai massage we decided that we would give the Fish Spa a go. Our first experience with the Fish Spa was on the island of Langkawi in Malaysia. The feeling of tiny little fish nibbling on your feet is a strange sensation. it feels a little like pins and needles or imagine the putting your feet into the fuzziness of a soft drink.

The cost of such a unique experience depends on the country. In Thailand 30min is on average 150THB and in Malaysia it’s 15.00MYR

With my crusty feet the fish always seem to get a good feed and Elena complains when I put my feet in the same tank as her. I seem to attract all the fish and poor Elena feels like she’s not getting her monies worth.

There are mixed reviews on Fish Spa treatments but we enjoyed them in each country that the have been available. If you have sensitive skin or any small cuts then it’s probably best that you avoid them. You don’t want to fish an infection in a foreign country if you can help it.
