It’s the final day, tomorrow we’ll be back to work and dreaming of our Island here in Espiritu Santo Vanuatu. The last 5 days we’ve connected with so many new friends. From French expats and Neighbors to Hotel and motel owners. Everyone feels like lifetime friends. It’s so hard to leave, but we know that it;s too soon to be making the transition to our Island yet.

Today was a day of finals, the final farewell to Marie and Luis, our friends at Hibiscus Attraction Centre and to out new French neighbors Bruno and Joselyn who are just so open with all they have and so encouraging in our newfound project here in Santo.

We took Mum to our land  for the final time and took a swim. The tide was perfect and at the highest point, this place is magic and I can’t wait to share it with friends from all over the world. The building is a year away, but the determination is now stirring.

I sit here in the flight with John our friend from our very first trip to Santo and Beth the owner of Village De Santo Hotel where we had dinner last night, the flight feels like you surrounded by friends and everyone on the flight knows each other. we’ve all changed seats just to chat and get further acquainted.

I’ll miss this once we hit the concert jungle of Brisbane, there is something special about the people who live in the best kept secret in the South Pacific.

they all in their own unique way have made us feel welcome, befriended and helped us. this is the spirit and essence of Espiritu Santo…. A place we are real proud to call home…. can’t wait to be back and start the building of our dream.

To all who made us feel so welcome and made Elena’s Mum feel so relaxed we say “Tanku Tumas”

Santo and our new-found friends, missing you already.
