OK, it’s been a while since we visited some of the places that we mention, so but it’s about time we compiled a list of where we stayed in various places around the globe.

Brisbane CBD
Traders – Formerly the Holiday Inn. – This was the very first place that Elena and our son stayed in back in Easter 2005. With it’s handy location right next to Brisbane’s Transit Centre it’s the gateway for commuters and rail travellers from Cairns in the north or Sydney in the south. With one stop to Central Station and boasting the parkland’s to relax it’s not a bad place to stay.
The Chifley at Lennons is a nice hotel if you’re looking for something that’s right on the main shopping hub that is Brisbane CBD. Literally right on your doorstep to the Queen St Mall walking street that’s packed with all that is shopping, café’s and the jet set of Brisbane. Relax in the pool above the street and soak away the aches and pains of injecting some cash into the cities economy.
Rydges Southbank – Just across the river from Brisbane’s CBD lies the city’s closest playground complete with a man-made beach, shopping and entertainment precinct oh and of course the museum. This hotel we have stayed at a few times and each time we are impressed. Buffet Breakfast is not to be missed. You can taxi, walk (15-20 min) or take the train (one stop from the Transit Centre)to get to the hotel. If you’re driving there is a valet parking service.If you’re here on a weekend be sure to check out the Southbank Markets for all that is art and craft.
Brisbane City Backpackers -Ah yes how could we ever forget this place. This was our first home in Australia! for 10 days we were here in June 2005. For a backpacker hostel it’s great! Although if your room is near the bar you’re in for a noisy night, so best to just go and have a drink. The rooms were really tidy and as a first timer in this type of accommodation we would do it again.
While planning a trip out for the summer I found this blog. I am soooo glad I did! My family and I are now adding this to our itinerary. I think it would be a great place to visit for the kids as well as the wife and I – can’t wait.
