We’ve hit a cross roads and this weekend we really have to sort out what it is that we want.

Since selling our house we’ve played with the thought of buying another house to tidy up and make a little profit before we set off on our global trek. Last week saw us put an offer on a 6 bedroom monster that needs a little work done, however the price was good. That was until we started digging a little deeper.

There are laws about building and altering the original house and because the rooms downstairs are not a legal height it’s going to be a hard house to sell for a good price without local council approval.

So last night we looked at the net again and have completely back-flipped on our buying strategy.

Given that we are now living on Elena’s Wage and saving mine, we thought on looking at a smaller place. Something that will be less work thus allowing us to focus on our travel goals and still give us a home when we return.

The smaller house comes with a smaller price too yet retains some dignity with a gated complex, pool, tenis court and BBQ area. So, we’re not missing out.

The hard part will be knowing that I have no project as what we are looking at now is all renovated… there is not much for me to do.

We feel comfortable in the decision, but every now and than the pangs of renovation fever kick in. It’s a big decision….

We’re going to look over the Townhouse tomorrow and by Monday we’ll know what direction we will be taking.

Talk about being flippant!
